Field trips at the Orpheum Theatre and Halloran Centre open young minds to a lifelong love of theatre and the arts.
For a school year like none other, we've revamped our programs to meet each educator where they are right now, whether in the physical classroom or the virtual one. Our new field trip opportunities provide increased engagement and socio-emotional support to students through the arts! Learn More >
Since 2002, the Orpheum Theatre Group’s Student Matinee Series has inspired thousands of students to explore the boundless possibilities of imagination. We bring high-quality theatre for young audiences from around the world to the Orpheum Theatre and Halloran Centre to educate and entertain students ranging from Pre-K through high school. Supplemental materials are available to help instructors connect the stage with the classroom curriculum.
While the Orpheum Theatre Group is not able to offer in-person student matinees at this time, we are thrilled to be able to provide the same student matinee experience in a virtual format that everyone can enjoy from the safety of their own virtual or in-person classroom. We are very excited to share a production that we recently joined in producing with over 40 theaters from across the country: A Kids Play About Racism. We are excited to now be able to offer this production to all classroom and homeschool educators across the country free of charge. Learn More >
Online learning can be challenging. With students having so much screen time it can be hard to engage them fully through the long school day. These quick guided theatre exercises can be used to recharge students’ bodies, voices, and imaginations. Whether to jump-start a class period or infuse a brain break into the learning process, theatre games and warm-up activities can springboard engagement, joy, and collaboration with your students; creating an optimal environment for learning.
