Bring your Students to a Show!

Bring your students to a show at the historic Orpheum Theatre or the gorgeous Halloran Centre for Performing Arts and Education and treat them to a field trip they will never forget!

Since 2002, the Orpheum Theatre Group’s Student Matinee Series has inspired thousands of students to explore the boundless possibilities of imagination and provided access to high-quality theatre, music, dance and more to young audiences all over the Mid-South!

Shows serve students from Pre-K through high school and supplemental materials are available to help educators connect the stage with classroom curriculum.

Tickets are $8 per student or $6 per student at qualifying Title I Schools.

Celebrate Hispanic and Latino culture through music, dance, stories, and more with Cazateatro’s talented artists! Don Quixote returns with his trusty sidekick, Sancho Panza, for another fun-filled, musical adventure to learn about Hispanic cultural traditions and more! Performed in English and Spanish.

Transport your students to a sweetly nostalgic riverside and a confectionary dreamland through the eyes of a young girl destined for adventure. Ballet Memphis’ production of this beloved American holiday tradition promises to delight the audience with its fanciful sets and costumes. Join us for this abbreviated version of this annual tradition!

A Night at the Movies with the Memphis Youth Symphony Program: Music from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more!

For the second year in a row, the Orpheum Theatre Group joins in partnership with the Memphis Youth Symphony Program to showcase the talented young musicians of our local community. A Night at the Movies will feature familiar music classics from Harry Potter, Star Wars, and more!  Come hear young musicians perform for and inspire the next generation of music and arts lovers!

Dance Theatre of Harlem: Inside Ballet

Friday, February 7, 2025 – 10:30am

Location: Orpheum Theatre – 203 South Main Street (on the corner of Main and Beale)

Run Time: approximately 50 minutes

Recommended Grades: 5th Grade & Up

Curriculum Connections: Fine Arts, Physical Education, Social Studies, Social Emotional Learning

This special Student Matinee Series performance features excerpts from three works, along with an interactive Q&A session. This hour-long event includes a fun and accessible introduction to ballet, a brief explanation of the context and history of the ballets being performed, as well as a discussion of the legacy and impact of Dance Theatre of Harlem around the world.
