Discover your next favorite artist at the Memphis Songwriters Series, hosted by Memphis songwriter Mark Edgar Stuart.

Mark and his musical guests take audiences on a journey behind the music, sharing personal stories and introducing exciting new works.

This innovative, immersive experience lifts the veil on Memphis’ longstanding songwriting tradition for music fans of all genres to enjoy.

Each Songwriters Series performance features three of Memphis’ own seasoned musicians.

Host Mark Edgar Stuart was the go-to bass player for an elite group of record producers and artists. As a sideman he has toured with some of Memphis' finest exports, one which led to an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.  In 2010, he put down his bass, picked up a guitar and started writing songs. His debut CD, Blues for Lou, earned him “Record Of The Year” by the Memphis Flyer. Since then he has become one of the city's most beloved singer-songwriters, and has enjoyed national recognition in publications such as Garden & Gun, Paste, & Los Angeles Times.

Kiña del Mar

Kiña del Mar is a singer/rapper/musician who combines soul, hip-hop, and pop into what she lovingly describes as Soul Fusion.  Born and raised in Memphis, Kiña del Mar was immersed in classic Memphis music, from legendary Stax artists to the rap stylings of Hypnotize Minds.  After studying songwriting under the guidance of Nashville songwriter, Deanna Walker, Kiña returned to Memphis and began honing her unique sound, one that pays homage to the greats and incorporates the more refreshing elements of modern music.  Every song is crafted with care and imbued with a level of honesty and empowerment that is rarely heard in the mainstream.

Kyndle Wylde

Gospel-raised in tiny Bolivar, Tenn, singer/songwriter Kyndle Wylde has a voice that has demanded attention since she started singing in her crib. Moving to Memphis as a teenager, her voice and harmonies quickly made her an in-demand singer onstage and in studio. Continuing her musical journey, she was based in Nashville when the pandemic hit. Denied her performing outlet, she dug deep, and the songwriting that had always been a sideline became an obsession. Acclaimed for her singing since she’d first stood in front of an audience, she discovered a new voice inside her. The result is Kyndle Wylde and a six-song sonic Polaroid of who she is at this moment in the life of an artist in motion. Now it’s your turn to discover that new voice. Her eponymous debut EP drops the end of this summer.

Joshua Cosby

Native Memphian Joshua Andrew Cosby writes and sings songs that take the simple pleasures of life, love, family, and friends, and turn them over onto their underbelly, exposing what’s there to a pure and gentle light that he is uniquely gifted to shine. He has been doing so for upwards of 10 years as a founding member of Star & Micey, and more recently, his solo project “Black Bettie” named after his 17 year old dog.
